Part of the first ”Empathy Object”, poverty as it’s theme.
Slide tells about how it feels to be sick and poor and to receive unwanted financial advice. The script was inspired by the poverty survey in Helsingin Sanomat newspaper (Jan. 2019) and by the employees of the Threshold Association. During the ”empathy-poverty pancake session” at the office we thought that it´s more important to visualize the inner speech of a poor person than try to show poverty. Assumptions about how poverty looks causes problems (poverty splaining) and doesn’t increase empathy. Can a scandinavian poor have a smartphone or fashion clothes…? To avoid judgemental views Slide concentrates on feelings in a conceptual way.
